Last Weigh In Result for BLBE!!

-0.0 lb.
Yeah, that's right - no gain, no loss for this last weigh in - kind of anti-climactic, hee hee :)

I made it to #2 chart topper last week, with a 1.4 lb loss - woo hoo!! that's cool!! I've had good and bad weeks during this challenge, but I'm glad I entered, it gave me the extra push I needed - always thinking I didn't want to give up, I didn't want to let you guys down... It was a team effort and even though I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to write and read and comment, whenever I did have moment you guys were always there to inspire, encourage and read...

I didn't make it to my goal of 135lbs, boy was that un-realistic :) In the end I lost 6.20 lbs, or 3.94%. I'm down to 151 from 157.4. Not too bad... Still in the right direction... I'm working at getting my motivation back and this progression towards my goal does help for sure - I can be successful, even when life is stressful and work is taking every minute of my day... I need to remember that... The recipe is quite simple - track, eat well, exercise... Sometime all you need is to push yourself a little, to 'just do it', to quote Nike :)

I'm driving to see my family in Montréal for christmas tomorrow, hopefully I can continue to choose what I eat wisely while I am there... we'll see! I'll probably blog again when we get back, most likely with some 2009 goals - can you believe it's 2009??!!!!

And a big congratulations to you too - you've done fabulously!! And finally, Thank you so much to Angie for organizing this, putting up our numbers every week, encouraging us... Angie YOU ROCK!!!

I've been away recently - I am used to finding a quiet moment during the work day to blog, but the new company I work for has cut the employee internet connection!! My evenings get too busy most days for me to blog, so I'll have to adjust things before I can blog on a regular basis again... re-organize my schedule...

Weigh In #7

That's a 0.8 lb loss for this week!

I'll take it... No much to report - I've been spending the last 3 days taking care of my fiancé who just went for knee surgery. Everything went well. Actually, not that well, because he scared me to death before the surgery.

We're in the waiting room with several people in hospital gowns all waiting for surgery too... They call him up to get is IV hooked up, he comes back and sits beside me, we chat, we chat... everything seems normal... He says he's sleepy and gives me his glasses to put away, which I did, then I saw from the corner of my eye that he was leaning to the side, as if he was jokingly pretending to go to sleep... but I soon realized that it wasn't normal, he wasn't responsive and he started shaking a bit. His eyes were open but he wasn't 'there' anymore... He looked dead...

So I yelled for help while trying to hold him up, creating a panic in the waiting room... Two nurses got there so fast I can only remember them 'appearing'... they held him up and put some cold wash clothes on his forehead and neck - the one nurse told me that everything was ok, he had just fainted... She talked to him and he eventually responded... OMG... The nurse started joking around to calm everybody down a bit ''It's just because it's a man... Every day there's at least one man who faints on me...'' she said that he was probably very nervous, and hungry, so when the drugs kicked in it made him faint...
So he got the special 'comfy/reclining' chair for the rest of the wait... :)

That was the scariest moment of my life - just the feeling that he was 'gone'... ugh... I was in several car accidents, had lots of other moments that could have scared me to death, but this was by far the worst... But apparently it's common and it's nothing to worry about - I had never seen someone faint before - pretty spectacular :)

But now he's home and resting, he's doing his little knee exercises... I am sad that I can't be there all day with him - but I have to work :(

Anyways... that's all I can talk about right now, because that's the only thing on my mind...

Feeling a bit better....

I got home yesterday and fiancé's plan was to have me eat some chicken soup, then get into my pjs and nap until our TV appointment with Heroes...

That. was. so. goooooood.

We had a long nap then watched a bit of tv and then went to sleep again for a nice long comfy night. This morning I still feel like I have a cold, but I don't feel 'tired' at all... I'm ready to fight that virus!!! Argh!!!

I've officially signed up for Soccer again - playing in a Coed team, at the BMO field (official Toronto FC playing field...) In the winter, they put a 'bubble' on top of the field, and they have recreational leagues who play all winter... I believe it's the same this year - we play on Wednesday nights starting November 12th and the games start between 9 and 11pm, which makes for very interesting Thursday mornings... ouch... but boy is it fun to play on that field!! I just love it! And it's an easy 6 points of activity per game...

The team has asked my fiancé to coach this season, as he won't be able to play again until May 2009. He goes for knee surgery this Friday - broke a ligament on the inside of the knee... I know that this will be tough for him, to come to the games and just watch... he misses playing so much... poor thing...

Anyways... I lost where I was going with this... hmmm... nope can't remember! oh well... I'll blog again when I remember!

Didn't share that in english...

One thing that should motivate me a lot to get to my goal weight is the fact that I'm getting married next year, and I would like to look my best/be my healthiest by then...

We're getting married in New York City, just the two of us - no family, no friends, just the two of us... It'll be in the spring or the fall, depending on my work schedule... I hate to have to schedule my life around work like that, but for now, that's what I do and there's not much I can do about it... oh well...

So yes - a wedding! Yay!

I've been starting my week rather badly - not enough to 'do damage' but I was headed in the same direction as for the last few weeks... which have not been good - well 2 days in, I clicked, and I am happy to say that I have been OP for 2 days, tracking everything and eating within my points... Now if I can get back to exercising... I have been having the hardest time waking up in the morning - I have a bit of flexibility as to when I come in to work, but I usually try to go in early so that I can leave early - well this week I have been going into work later than ever! I have to turn that around... I'm confident that once the stress of 'the new job' goes away, everything will go back to normal...

I have been having issues with my birth control pill as well, I recently switched pills and it's just not working... I can't wait to have that sorted out too!! Unfortunately I think that the solution will be to just stop using the pill, ugh... oh well!! :)

ok I'm going to go watch The Office now!! Good night! :)

It caught up to me... But I'm ok with that - it's best if it happens, to show me that I'm doing something wrong... Now I want to reverse that, so I'm going to be OP all week. oh yes! I don't think I can blog about it right now - no time unfortunately- but I thought I would at least put it out there - that's right, I've been bad - kick my butt!
But I'll have good numbers next week, because I'm starting this week with the right attitude!

I'll try to post again this week, I have a few ideas...

Weigh In #4 + I won!!!

That's a 0.2 lb loss for this week...

I won on Mel's template contest!! :) Woo hoo!!! That's so cool! Thank you so much Mel and Lindsay! :) I have started to think of what I will do and which blog I will apply the new template to... my english blog, my french blog? I don't know yet... will keep you posted ;)

I started the new job, and it's going ok... Things are slowly starting to feel normal again... It's always tough to be in a new place with new people, so that's normal... We're in a temporary location until we move into our new building end of month... I can't wait for that... This office is ok but it's not 'private' enough for my liking... :) Everybody who passes by can see what I am doing because my monitors are facing the door of the office... There's a big window into my office right beside the door, so even if I closed it, it wouldn't help :)

A bit stressed because I'm using a program I haven't used in 3 years... (Avid Media Composer) but it's slowly coming back to me... I haven't 'really' started working on anything yet because there was no material available, but this afternoon, or tomorrow, I will get to use it and see how much I need to 're-teach' myself :)

I can't wait until I finally get to read all your blogs again - well, read them more regularly... And I want to blog more too... I know I said that already... :) It's coming soon, I can feel it! There is light at the end of this tunnel!!! Phew! :)

Weigh In #3

That's a 0.6 lb loss for this week.

That's not a lot, especially considering I was 153.4 yesterday morning... Yes, you can kick my butt - I ate too much yesterday... I was so good all week and then - I went to the bulk barn, and bought some chocolate.... hmmmm.... I had some at 9pm, with a glass of Coke... hmmmm....

I need to get my Sunday nights under control because I really mess up with my week's effort just with one evening... I don't know why the Sunday night specifically - maybe it's just the depressing thought that I have to work the next day... but that's just a poor excuse... Also, I tend to sleep later in the morning on weekends, so on Monday, weigh in day, I have to break that... somehow I feel like this might make a difference on the scale - I read that somewhere, but I don't know if it's true... But the truth is, it's consistant: that's the way I weigh myself every Monday... so that shouldn't make a difference... I think it's really just a matter of putting more effort into it...

I have 2 weeks left of 'hell at work' and then I'll be able to have a more 'regular' schedule... I hate working late one night, working early one other morning... it just messes up with my metabolism... and it makes me grumpy... :) I hope the new job will be easier than my current job... it's only a one year contract this time...

Oh! I have to say though - I have accomplished something good this week - I have completed week 2 of the c25k program. Yup, for 3 days this week! Now on to week 3 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

anyways... I ramble, I ramble... I should keep it short and blog again during the week... and do the same on my French blog, no worries :) Maybe I'll start doing that in a couple of weeks...

I think I was supposed to write about a small goal. hmmm... I think I want to seriously add strength training in my exercise routine. I have been saying that for a while, no I just want to do it. That would be perfect - 3 days of cardio, 2 days of strength training, 1 day off... Yup, that's my next small goal!

Work is hell. I don't want to be too hard on myself, I'm in the middle of an unusually extremely hard 3 weeks... I just have to hang in there... one day at a time, I will get through this...

My excuses:

Stress - Stress - Work - Stress... Too tired... Don't feel like it... Scared...

Today my big challence is to not get all depressed over the project I've been working on for the last 2 years finishing in 12 work days... It's the fall, things are changing, it's scary, I'm sad...

BOO HOO...

I know if I keep a stable schedule - wake up at the same time, exercise, eat well - it will make this change much easier - this time I don't want to fall into the easy trap of 'self-pity'... I won't allow myself to be sad, or depressed... Right this very second I'm already trying to fight it thinking - oh, I can give myself a day to be sad... NO!!! Be happy, it's a great time - I'm going to start on a new project!! There are tons more reasons to be happy about this change...

My trick for when I'm depressed like that is - don't listen to any sad music or movies. Find the happiest songs, hang out with energetic and positive people... Be positive!!

I plan on doing just that today...

Weekend Day 2

I started the day by doing my first day of C25k week 2. It was pretty good, a bit tougher than week 1, but I got it done...
Biggest accomplishment here is that even though I have not exercised all week and lost track of my points yesterday, I didn't wait until my weigh in day to 'reset' - if I have a bad week, I usually give up and continue 'being bad' until the weigh in day, where I 'reset'... Not good...
Things can and will most likely go out of control sometimes, but you should always go back 'on program' as soon as you can... I need to remember that...
I counted all of my points so far today, and well, I exercised... Yay! :)

Off to read some blogs from the biggest loser challenge... part of this challenge is also to encourage others :) I just realized I got some comments here already! I hadn't set up the comment notification emails yet... Thank you for your comments! :)

Weekend Day 1

I usually go all off program on weekends, but I usually save points for that. This week I have no more weekly flex points available... And I'm starting by going to Cora's for breakfast... That's ok, I'll have something that's points friendly... I'm at 155.6 lbs this morning (weigh in is only on Monday...) Let's see how well I can do this weekend...

Weekly Flex Points

I was going to eat extra points today, felt like snacking... I would have had something unhealthy, most likely... but i didn't ! I stopped after using only 2 weekly points. That's a good day for me...

My goals for the weekend: exercising on the treadmill once, strength training once. Eat no more weekly flex points (I'm out of them anyways...) eats lots of fresh veggies...
