150.4 - maintaining...

I've been having a hard time blogging recently... and I am also having a hard time being on program. I feel like dissecting a typical day - maybe if I read it to myself I'll find some sort of 'answer' :)

I usually get up at 7h30, get ready for work (showering and drying my hair always takes exactly 1 hour:) Leave for work, eat in the car on the way... (I have recently started to try and get up early every morning to sneak in some exercise, but since I often end up having to come into work 1-2 hours early once or twice a week, it throws me off a bit...)

I have 0 time to blog at work (On a regular day, I start at 9h30am and end at 6pm, I do not take breaks, or take time for lunch - every thing happens in front of the computer, most of the time running 3-5 tasks at once...) I spend a lot of time getting distracted by what I would like to write on my blog, what I would like to do to be healthier, sneaking a peak at twitter and some blogs... but it's often interrupted with last minute changes in the list of tasks for the day, and a panicky coordinator who tries hard to make the most of my time by re-arranging everything as material and directors becomes available...

Then I get home at around 7 - 7h30pm... I prepare dinner, most of the time it's something that takes less then 15 minutes to prepare because at that point I am dying to eat, and most of the time I didn't plan ahead what we're going to eat... Rarely we prep something from scratch, often we are picking up something on the way home, often we eat pre-packaged foods, not always a bad thing, but there's room for improvement...

We pick up our plates and take them to 'the office' where S and I each have a computer. We eat in front of the computer, most of the time we also have the TV turned on in the background...

At that point, I go online and try to read everything that 'teased' me throughout the day at work - an article that got my attention, something on twitter, something on Youtube, some of my favorite bloggers who've posted something I can't wait to read:) At that point, on some days, I have time to blog - yes! But then inspiration doesn't come... It's like my brain can't focus, there's too much pressure... I start twittering, commenting on blogs, and of course, I spend a bit of time with S... before you know it, 9h30, 10pm comes around and it's time for bed (well, we usually watch TV in bed for an hour :) At that point I feel like I've left my whole evening go by being zombie like, absorbing as much info as I can without really being focused on anything specific...

Now I'm going to read this when I get home tonight, and think about it, then come up with a plan :) That's how I write on my blog these days - write as it comes to my brain, then read when I have time, and take action - hope you don't mind :)

Cinemarie, do you eat lunch?!?! I hope you are able to have something at your desk at least, like a protein shake or some soup.

Maybe you and S. could get in the habit of taking a little after dinner walk. Even a short one would give you a little exercise and time together before computer fun. (My husband and I did this once for about two weeks. LOL!)

@eurydice You're right - that's way too much computing... I wasn't that way before, and now I realize I need to work on that - life's too short to be in front of a computer all the time! :)

@chezjulie no worries, I do eat lunch :) I just always end up eating at my desk while keeping working...
That's a good idea to go out for a walk together... At least walking around we would get to chat and exercise, whereas in front of the computer we're together, but not really 'together'... you know? :)

I need to kick my own bum and work on this :) Thanks for your comments ladies :)
